Seating

  • Set your chairs up however the presenter prefers! We find that a square setup allows for a more intimate audience feel.
  • You always want fewer chairs than the number of registrants. You won’t always get 100% attendance. Empty seats emphasize why people didn’t show up. Of course, always have chairs on backup just in case there is 100% show!

Props

  • Props are great! Here's what we recommend:
    • Whiteboard: It’s engaging to draw and demonstrate during your presentation.
    • Table or Podium: we find that using a table creates a more open and relaxed feel and limits barriers between you and your audience.
    • Models or Illustrations: If you’re not going to draw on the whiteboard, bring models or illustrations to keep your audience engaged. Studies show that people learn more through images than by reading a presentation.
    • Testimonials: Your waiting room is a great place to display testimonials. Make sure that your registrants are walking by these on the way to your workshop!

Handouts

  • Worksheets and Pens: The express checkout form is attached at the bottom of this page. Provide this to each registrant and have them fill it out before leaving.
  • Water vs. Snacks vs. Decorations. Most people who are coming to workshops are looking for information, not snacks and decorations. Only providing water bottles is the best option.

Managing Walk-Ins

There are times when someone may want to register for one of your upcoming workshops, but hadn't previously registered themselves through the workshop landing page.

Usually, you will encounter this situation if someone has called into the practice asking to register, asks one of your staff members in person at your clinic, or they are a "walk-in" to your workshop and haven't signed up at all.

  • Walk-ins should be added to Breakthrough either manually or by having the contact register through your landing page.
  • Adding a contact manually will allow you to choose the phase and, subsequently, the automated messaging they will receive.
