Contacts with the Same Email

Modified on Tue, 5 Mar at 11:35 AM

To prevent duplicate contacts, Breakthrough only allows you to add one contact per email. There is currently no way to add contacts with the same email address because the system needs to know who to address in automated campaigns.

When two people share an email (ie. married couples, family members, etc), you should add them both separately when possible.

Your Insights reporting will be more accurate and you can update each contact separately through the Patient Phases.

We do not suggest making "fake" emails up for people simply to add them into Breakthrough. This will increase the number of fake emails in the Breakthrough system, causing the deliverability rate of our server to go down and impacting the effectiveness of our emailing software for all clients in Breakthrough.

Our recommendation for contacts that share an email address is to create both contacts in Breakthrough but leave the email address blank for one of them.

You should make sure that the contact without an email address has a valid phone number in Breakthrough so that you can still communicate with them via text or call.
